Want to dip your toes into the world of Swing and Jazz ukulele but don’t know where to start?

In this course I’ll walk you through everything you need to jumpstart your journey whether you are picking up the instrument or have been strumming for years.

Over the course of the 27 video lessons we will learn about the ukulele, basic techniques, strumming, chords, and how we talk about music. Most importantly we learn how to practice effectively. Playing a song is one thing: learning it is another.

Each of the 5 songs presents us with new concepts and challenges building upon the last that give us a foundational skillset to play music in this style. While I will teach you the chords to the song we will talk in more broad terms about chord progressions and most importantly how to practice the songs: not simply play them. Learning with this mindset allows us to learn other jazz standards much faster in the future as we realize that songs are built upon shared concepts.

From the very first song we dive head first into improvisation: no scales or theory required. My goal is to demystify this music for you and simply make it fun.
